All Abroad the Orient Express and other sleeper trains

Travelling by train has a unique rhythm to it - gentler and more reflective than many other forms of transport. It’s not just about getting from point A to B; it’s about how you move through the world.

Sleeper trains are the ultimate choice for luxurious, leisurely adventure for Silverithmics with time to spare and a yearning for the golden age of exploration. These “hotels on wheels” not only advocate a greener mode of travel but also serve as gateways to the landscapes, cultures, and histories of diverse world regions without the stressful logistics of today’s air travel. The caveat is that rolling up and down the best choo choo lanes in the world does require deep pockets!

Europe’s timeless charm

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express: A Paris to Venice time capsule

The legendary Orient Express is first on our bucket list, often hailed as the pinnacle of sleeper train travel. With its storied history and air of mystery, thanks partly to Agatha Christie, the Orient Express offers an experience drenched in luxury and glamour. The journey between Paris and Venice on the Venice-Simplon-Orient-Express is among its most celebrated today. Passengers are treated to a world where the golden age of travel is brought to life through lovingly restored 1920s-era cars, five-star dining and stellar service. This journey isn’t just a trip; it’s stepping into a moving piece of history.

In late August 2024, the Paris to Istanbul journey through seven countries (or vice versa) is THE most exclusive and glamorous way to celebrate something very special.

Come spring 2025, the new La Dolce Vita Orient Express will bring passengers to regions throughout Italy on itineraries that run between two and three days.

While it’s not the Hogwarts Express, the Belmond Royal Scotsman provides a luxurious and intimate adventure around the stunning Scottish countryside. Think retrofitted vintage Pullman carriages, a travelling spa (yes, a spa), and you've got yourself a private club trundling through spellbinding landscapes. Castles, whisky, and untamed nature – it’s Scotland in a nutshell.
